One could die, 2 would be pretty unlikely but three seems to me a fail-safe. Three may seem a lot but I tend to overdo caution. I don't want some kind of melt down to destroy backed up files. I keep three external drives that I back up daily and then remove them from the system. All of these things can be kept and stored on my DELL while my ThinkCentre is the daily work horse. Photo Gallery & movie maker have been unsupported for some years and I believe they want to kill it right off this year. Windows Photo Gallery because the photo collage operation is the ONLY one like it! I have dragged from both of these a legacy programs that I have dragged from PC to PC since 2012! Other than that, for regular photo work, just about any photo program works for me. I spent so much time learning Photoshop (7.0) I can not give it up! 20 years and there is still much in the "Classroom Book" I do not know. I thank Everyone for their thoughts! I most certainly can use the Linux office tools. If it does not currently do everything you do in Microsoft Office, it will soon. LibreOffice is improving faster than Microsoft Office. If I was stuck with Publisher, I would use Dual boot. I used dual boot for Microsoft Project until I converted to the superior ProjectLibre. Microsoft Publisher is the only Microsoft application I run into that does not have a good free open source replacement with automatic import of existing files. With dual boot, you can install the major open source applications in Windows to cut down on the number of times you have to reboot. Dual boot is a good option for the few times I needed a Microsoft application. I found VMs more difficult than dual boot. Virtual Machine software works for some people. I thing the last version of Office to work in Wine was Microsoft Office 1920.

Wine works for some people but never worked for me with a current release of a Microsoft application. I find Wine supports versions older than what I have. Wine depends on the release of Microsoft software.
